What I do
Brief biography: I am deputy head teacher at a large secondary school in South London, and have worked in 3 different schools in different roles, including Head of English. I still love being in the classroom and am continually surprised by how much I have still got to learn.
What I want to tell you about
Workshop title: Making ends meet: why teaching rhyme might be harder than you think
Brief description: In this session I will outline why I think teaching students to understand and appreciate rhyme is so difficult. I will explore some of the methods I have been using to teach it better, and drawing from my experiences some valuable lessons about the way we design and structure our English curricula.
