What I do

Brief biography:          I am deputy head teacher at a large secondary school in South London, and have worked in 3 different schools in different roles, including Head of English. I still love being in the classroom and am continually surprised by how much I have still got to learn.

What I want to tell you about

Workshop title:           Making ends meet: why teaching rhyme might be harder than you think

Brief description:        In this session I will outline why I think teaching students to understand and appreciate rhyme is so difficult. I will explore some of the methods I have been using to teach it better, and drawing from my experiences some valuable lessons about the way we design and structure our English curricula.
