What I want to tell you about

Workshop title:          A strategic approach to intervention in English

Brief description:      The starting point in every child’s learning journey is different, and for some children, the speed bumps and pot-holes along that journey considerably restrict the pace to their expected destination. As classroom practitioners, we are constantly faced with the challenge to enable and facilitate this journey, pulling out all the stops to ensure our students get where they need to be.

This session aims to break down this considerable task into a manageable and strategic approach. It will provide a diagnostic model to evaluate where best to direct our efforts and resources in order to make intervention efficient and meaningful, putting our students firmly in the driving seat and giving them the acceleration they need to set off.

It will include:

  • A diagnostic model derived from research-led enquiry
  • Practical strategies to embed within intervention and maximise impact
  • An opportunity to reflect upon, discuss and share best practice
